The Istra Peninsula is a unique place in Croatia and Slovenia. This area was under the influence of the Venetian Republic for 600 years, which left a rich cultural heritage and architecture. Before the Venetian Republic, the area was ruled by pirates and then by the Roman Empire, which also left many monuments from that era.

Each town here is similar to the other, but unique at the same time. Rovinj is a beautiful city and an excellent sea fortress on a small island. Not far away, near Vrsar, where we will stay overnight, you can enter a real fjord - the Gulf of Lima. In ancient Pula there is the 5th largest Amphitheatre in the Roman Empire, and in Poreč there is one of the first Christian monasteries and almost the oldest Christian church. It was built in the same year that Christians were no longer persecuted and Christianity was officially recognised as a religion. The Brijuni Islands are associated with such a historical figure as Joseph Broz Tito, his residence was located here, and today it is a national safari park.
